The region Campania is one of the most beautiful regions in Italy. It has an abundance of natural beauties, archaeological sites and a long tradition of excellent food. Walking is a great way to discover this area and meet its warm and friendly people. Our tour will take you away from the areas of heavy-duty tourism into another world of ancient lands full of history and towns hemmed in by lemon groves. We will let you discover the spectacular views as you walk along the famous path of the gods along the Amalfi coast into the valley of the mills. You will also visit the lovely town of Massa Lubrense that was founded by the Lombards and hemmed in by flower-filled fields of lemon and olive trees.
Tour details:
Day 1 - ARRIVAL
Arrival at your hotel located in Sorrento Peninsula.
Day 2 - VESUVIUS
In the morning, before the excursion, briefing with your trekking guide. Departure by private minibus to Mount Vesuvius. Before starting the path in the area of Mount Vesuvius, visit of its crater. The walk along the path will be a full immersion in the typical Mediterranean flora and you will enjoy breathtaking views of the whole bay of Naples and visit of two lateral craters. Free time for lunch. Back to the hotel in the afternoon.
Day 3 - AMALFI COAST (The Path of The Gods)
After breakfast meeting at the Hotel with your guide. Today’s walk starts on the limestone ridges and hills above the Amalfi Drive, where you will explore the “Path of the Gods”, Amalfi’s most scenic walk, with spectacular views of the sea and the hillsides. Free time for lunch. After lunch the trail descends stone steps, down towards Positano where you will visit the picturesque and historic town center, situated on the beach. Private transfer back to your hotel.
Day 4 - POMPEI & SORRENTO
After breakfast meeting at the Hotel with your guide. First stop today is Pompeii, one of the most important and amazing archaeological sites in the world. Here you will feel as if you have stepped back in time to 2000 years ago. On the way back, you will stop in Sorrento. Free time to enjoy lunch in one of the many local restaurants located in the historic center. In the afternoon you will walk back to the Hotel.
Day 5 - DAY AT LEISURE
Optional excursion: We suggest the visit of the beautiful Island of CAPRI.
Day 6 - RAVELLO & AMALFI “Valley of the Mills”
After breakfast meeting at the Hotel with your guide. Transfer by minibus to Ravello to visit the world-famous garden of Villa Rufolo. After the visit of Ravello’s center, you will walk along the ancient mule track to reach the ancient and medieval “Tower of the Ziro” where, according to the legend, the Duchess of Melfi was imprisoned. From the tower you will enjoy stunning views of Amalfi and the coast. Free Lunch in Pontone. In the afternoon, you will walk down to Amalfi, through the fragrant groves of the local lemon trees and into the “Valley of the Mills”. Here stand ancient paper mills, which drew their power from the abundant, fast-moving water of the torrent, situated here. Some of the mills can be still visited. In Amalfi, time to relax and visit the spectacular 13th century Cathedral and its historic center. Back to the hotel by private bus.
Day 7 - MASSA LUBRENSE
After breakfast meeting at the Hotel with your walking guide. A short drive to the little village of Termini. You will walk up to Mount San Costanzo, where you will have the most breathtaking views of the bay of Salerno and Naples and the Island of Capri. Free lunch in the little village of Schiazzano that you will reach by walking through the countryside. In the afternoon, you will walk to the charming village of Annunziata with an Aragonese Castle, than we descend towards Massa Lubrense and continue to your hotel.
Day 8 - DEPARTURE
Breakfast at the hotel. End of the services

WALKING INFORMATION:
People with knee problems could have problems with days 3 and 6 for the big amount of steps and those that have heights problems could have difficulty on day 3 (valid alternative stop in Positano).The walking is between 7Km/4mi/4hr and 11Km/7mi/5hr Walking boots and a bottle of water are recommended Possibility to enjoy lunch in some typical local restaurants during the excursions. Otherwise we suggest to provide packet-lunch on your own.
